The primer coat is applied to seal the concrete and promote adhesion, followed by the body coat (which may include decorative quartz sand or flake broadcasts for textured, anti-slip finishes), and finally the clear or pigmented topcoat that provides the final colour, gloss level, and chemical resistance.
